The opera Orpheus in The Underworld by Jacques Offenbach, based around a greek myth also deals with a scenario where there are two different worlds.






Saint Saens' Carnival of The Animals he similarly uses different instruments for different animals e.g. double bass and piano is the elephant, two pianos and cello are the swan





In Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and The Wolf he uses different instruments to depict different animals e.g. the flute is the bird and the duck, the oboe.
